Puppydom is such a fun time but getting off on the right foot is so important. When they are this young everything is new and sometimes scary. We use this class to lay the foundation for skills later in life! In this class we focus on proper socialization to help them navigate their new world. We introduce them to novel stimuli, new people, new dogs, and more in a safe, calm environment. It is so important to properly socialize young puppies so they become happy, confident adults. Puppies coming out of this class will be ready to take a skills class and be ahead of the curve!

Ages: 6 months to 2 years

Cost: $160

There are no prerequisites for this class!

A class perfect for navigating those “teenager” years. Between the ages of 6 months and 2 years dogs change a lot. They are maturing from a puppy to an adult, but aren’t quite one or the other. During this time you may notice them being more selective in their listening skills, regressing in their training, or developing other behaviors. This can be hard to figure out, but this class can help! Some skills we focus on are:

  • Dismissing the environment using pattern games

  • Focus and attention

  • Recalls

  • Settling on a mat in the face of distraction

  • Strengthening the bond between human and dog

  • Coping with changes in behavior

A super fun class to teach your pup to find different scents! This is the first class of the series which starts with teaching your pup to find food through scent! It also teaches you (the human) handling skills and how to notice subtle changes in your pup’s behavior when they are on the trail of the scent! This class sets your pup up to find other scents which we explore in future classes! An awesome class for all ages of dogs! Great mental stimulation and bonding for you and your pup! This class is great for shy and confident dogs alike. If your dog is nervous around other dogs, call or email us to see if this class is a good fit for your dog.

If there is a class you know you want to take but we are not offereing yet, please fill out this form and let us know! Also fill out this form if the class you were hoping to take is full.

dog reactive and anxious which led Magen to learn several behavior modification training protocols and pattern games. Her youngest dog has taught her the value of patience and slowing down, building trust with your dog, and working from a place of consent, cooperation, and compassion.

Magen spent a decade as a college professor and test prep teacher and tutor. She also tutored students while in high school and undergrad. She loves coaching and teaching humans as much as she loves working with dogs, which is vital since most of dog training is training humans to train their own dogs.

Magen is a member of The Pet Professional Guild and is a Force-Free and LIMA compliant trainer.

Magen’s first dog training experience was in the mid 1990s when she was in her early teens. Her family became puppy raisers for future service dogs for the blind. Magen attended training classes with the future service dog, was actively involved in training outside of classes, and brought him to school with her. Her family continued to raise future service dog puppies, providing her with a solid dog training foundation she continued to build on when she adopted her own dogs.

Magen currently has two dogs, who are very different from each other and have helped her grow substantially as a trainer. Her oldest dog is
