This class is perfect for dogs who are easily distracted, overly excitable, or just need a little help learning how to focus. Through engaging pattern and attention games, we teach dogs how to manage their energy, stay calm, and stay connected to their humans—even in distracting environments.

These fun, low-pressure exercises are designed to strengthen the bond between you and your dog while encouraging focus, calmness, and engagement. We work on skills like checking in, choosing to be by your side, and staying attentive—even when the world around them is buzzing.

Whether you have a young pup, a high-energy adolescent, or a newly adopted adult dog, this class is a great fit for building a foundation of trust and connection.

Magen is a member of The Pet Professional Guild and is a Force-Free and LIMA compliant trainer. She is also Pet CPR and First Aid Certified!

Magen’s first dog training experience was in the mid 1990s when she was in her early teens. Her family became puppy raisers for future service dogs for the blind. Magen attended training classes with the future service dog, was actively involved in training outside of classes, and brought him to school with her. Her family continued to raise future service dog puppies, providing her with a solid dog training foundation she continued to build on when she adopted her own dogs.

Magen currently has two dogs, who are very different from each other and have helped her grow substantially as a trainer. Her oldest dog is
