Wednesday Classes

Wednesdays 6:30pm to 7:15pm
August 6th to September 10th
Ages: 6 months to 2 years
Cost: $160
Welcome to the “teenage” stage—where your dog is no longer a puppy, but not quite an adult. Between 6 months and 2 years, dogs go through big developmental changes. You might notice selective listening, regression in training, or new, puzzling behaviors cropping up. It’s all totally normal—and this class is here to help you through it.
Designed specifically for adolescent dogs, this class focuses on building the skills and connection needed to navigate this tricky transition with confidence and clarity. Some of the key areas we cover include:
-
Focus and Attention
-
Reliable Recalls
-
Confidence in New Environments
-
Working Through Tough Distractions
-
Settling on a Mat
-
Emotional Regulation
-
Strengthening the Human–Dog Bond
-
…and more!
With a mix of structure, fun, and understanding, this class will help you and your dog grow together during this important stage.

Wednesdays 7:30pm to 8:15pm
August 6th to September 10th
Ages: Any Age
Cost: $170
(Price includes Scent Kit: The class is $160 but there is an additional fee of $10 for the necessary supplies for scent work. We made a kit that includes: scent swabs, a glass storage jar, a metal tin for searching, a disposable glove, scent tweezers, a bowl, a colander, and carry bag (new without household scents))
Ready to take your dog’s sniffing superpowers to the next level? In this advanced version of Nose Games, we’ll build on the basics and shift the focus from food to target scents! This class is perfect for dogs who already love using their nose and are ready for more challenge and structure.
Dogs will learn to search for a specific scent (like anise or clove), and each week, we will build drive and precision in their searches by working through a variety of searching skills (a different focus each session, like new environments and container types). We’ll introduce more complex hide placements and help teams start reading subtle dog behavior changes during scent work.
Whether you're thinking about getting into the world of scent sports or just want to engage your dog’s natural instincts in a fun way, this class is a great next step.

dog reactive and anxious which led Magen to learn several behavior modification training protocols and pattern games. Her youngest dog has taught her the value of patience and slowing down, building trust with your dog, and working from a place of consent, cooperation, and compassion.
Magen spent a decade as a college professor and test prep teacher and tutor. She also tutored students while in high school and undergrad. She loves coaching and teaching humans as much as she loves working with dogs, which is vital since most of dog training is training humans to train their own dogs.
Magen is a member of The Pet Professional Guild and is a Force-Free and LIMA compliant trainer. She is also Pet CPR and First Aid Certified!
Magen’s first dog training experience was in the mid 1990s when she was in her early teens. Her family became puppy raisers for future service dogs for the blind. Magen attended training classes with the future service dog, was actively involved in training outside of classes, and brought him to school with her. Her family continued to raise future service dog puppies, providing her with a solid dog training foundation she continued to build on when she adopted her own dogs.
Magen currently has two dogs, who are very different from each other and have helped her grow substantially as a trainer. Her oldest dog is
