Ages: 6 months to 24 months

**Prerequisite: must be an Acing Adolescence graduate or equivalent class, or have foundational to intermediate skills.

Welcome to the “teenage” stage—where your dog is now very interested in the world around her. It’s all totally normal—and this class is here to help you through it.

This special outdoor version of our adolescent class takes training beyond the classroom and into the real world. Working outside allows dogs and handlers to practice important skills around everyday distractions like people, dogs, sounds, smells, movement, and changing environments—all while building confidence and focus together. This is the perfect opportunity to take your skills to the next level! This class will vary somewhat based on the goals of each student in the class.

Designed specifically for adolescent dogs, this class focuses on strengthening communication, reliability, and emotional regulation during this challenging developmental stage. Some of the key areas we cover include:

  • Focus and Attention Around Real-Life Distractions

  • Reliable Recalls

  • Confidence in New Environments

  • Neutrality with People and Dogs when Outside

  • Skills for Mild, Unexpected Reactivity on Walks

  • Settling and Relaxation in Public Spaces

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Automatic Check-ins

  • Strengthening the Human–Dog Bond

Puppyhood is an exciting and crucial stage of development, and starting off on the right paw makes all the difference. At this age, everything is new—and sometimes a little overwhelming—for your pup. That’s why our class focuses on thoughtful, structured socialization to help them feel safe, confident, and curious as they explore the world around them.

In a calm and controlled environment, we gently introduce your puppy to new sights, sounds, people, dogs, and other novel experiences. This early exposure lays the foundation for a well-adjusted, happy adult dog.

To keep everyone safe, all puppies must have begun their vaccination schedule before attending class. We can’t wait to meet your pup and help them grow into their best self!
