FAQ:

Q: What issues can I address in a consult?

A: We focus on everyday training challenges like potty training, loose leash walking, chewing, jumping, and basic skills, as well as mild behavioral concerns such as separation whining or early signs of resource guarding. More serious behavioral concerns, aggression, or safety concerns are referred out with specific recommendations.

Q: Are follow-up notes included?

A: Yes! You’ll receive a written recap with personalized step-by-step guidance, plus email follow up 1-2 weeks after your call to see how it’s working.

Q: What if my dog has a medical or severe issue?

A: If behavior appears to be medically related (pain, sudden changes, etc.) or poses a safety risk, we’ll recommend consulting your veterinarian or a behavior specialist.

Q: Is this a training consultation or a training session?

A: This is a training consultation—not a one on one training session with in person coaching. We’ll assess your situation and provide a personalized, clear, actionable training plan with follow up in 1-2 weeks to see how it’s working.

Q: Can you tell me more Magen’s training methods?

A: Magen is a force free, rewards based professional dog trainer, a member of the Pet Professional Guild (the association for force-free professionals) and Force Free Trainers of Wisconsin, and follows E⁴ (Ethical, Effective, Empathetic, Evidence-based) and LIFE (Least Inhibitive, Functionally Effective) based training methods. She is also Pet CPR and First Aid certified through Pet Emergency Education.

Q: Do you offer in-person sessions?

A: At this time, consults are offered by phone or video only.
